The Kaminski House
One of Georgetown's architectural jewels, this house was built in the late 1700's on a bluff overlooking historic Front Street and the Sampit River. It's great appeal is its collection of fine antiques. The interior features many of the home's original floors and moldings. The home has been residence to three of Georgetown's mayors, including John Keith and Harold Kaminski. You are invited to picnic on the beautiful lawn, enjoy the observation deck overlooking the Sampit River and shop the museum store located in the old butler's quarters.

Tours of Hobcaw Barony


Hobcaw Barony, 17,500 acres of protected land, serves as a research reserve and historic site. During the colonial era, it was a king's grant and by the 19th century, Hobcaw Barony was subdivided into 11 rice plantations. At the end of rice cultivation, New Yorker Bernard Baruch purchased the property for use as a winter hunting retreat and entertained visitors from all over the world.
Three-hour van tours highlight Hobcaw's history, especially the Baruch era.

Water Tours

Rover Tours

 

The "Carolina Rover" will take you through Winyah Bay to the North Island Lighthouse where you can go shelling in a bird watcher's paradise. Sight the smokestack of the sunken Union flagship Harvest Moon. The "Tall Ship Jolly Rover" is a two hour sailing adventure along the marshland of the Intracoastal Waterway, Winyah Bay, and Goat Island. Hear tales of plank walking and buried treasure from the ship's pirate during morning and afternoon sails.
